FATIMAH’S CHALLENGES: EPISODE EIGHT

Grace: (holding her cheek in shock) You slapped me?… Sulaiman, you slapped me because of this girl? For the first time in our marriage, you raised your hand against me?

Sulaiman: (tears rolling down his face, voice trembling with rage) You deserve more than a slap. You have no heart—not even a shred of it. I never knew I married a devil instead of a wife! (He lifts Fatimah in his arms.) Get out of my way!

Grace: (blocking his path) Where are you going with her?

Sulaiman: (snaps) As if you care! (Turns back, voice cold and sharp.) And hear me well—by the time I return, I don’t want to see you in this house. If I do, we’ll meet in court… or in the police station.

Grace: (trembling, voice breaking) No… no, I’m not leaving my matrimonial home because of her! You caused all this in the first place. You brought her into this house—so this is your fault! (She bursts into tears, shouting in frustration.)

Abdulrahman: (running to his mother, frightened) Mommy! What happened? Why is Daddy shouting at you?

Grace: (grabs him, crying bitterly) Since this evil girl entered our lives, my husband has changed. He doesn’t love me anymore. He only cares about her!

Sulaiman: (furious, pointing at her with shaking hands) I regret the day I met you! Why am I wasting my words on you? Let me come back and find you here—you will see how hellfire truly feels! (He rushes out with Fatimah in his arms, places her in the car, and speeds away.)

At the Hospital

(Sulaiman bursts in, carrying Fatimah. Nurses rush forward, alarmed.)

Nurse 1: Sir, what’s the emergency? What happened to her?

Sulaiman: (choking on tears, struggling to

speak) She… she… she…

Nurse 2: She what? Speak up, sir! She’s unconscious!

Sulaiman: (finally breaks down, voice shattered) She was… raped.

Both Nurses: (horrified) What?!

Nurse 2: Quick, hand her over! Where is her hospital card? And have you informed the police?

Sulaiman: (wiping his tears) No… not yet. But I’ll go register her right now.

Nurse 1: Is she your child?

Sulaiman: (voice firm despite tears) Yes. She’s my first daughter.

Nurse 2: Then hurry. Get her registered while we begin emergency tests. And sir—be prepared. The police must be informed about this. Give her to us now.

(Sulaiman hands Fatimah over. They lay her on a bed and begin running tests. He rushes toward the reception desk to register her details.)

Back at Home

(Grace is pacing, sobbing, holding her phone tightly. She dials in panic.)

Grace: (crying into the phone) Mummy… I swear that girl is evil! I almost died the night I looked for her. She’s only here to destroy my marriage. Now my husband has asked me to pack my things and leave his house!

Mother-in-Law: (calm but stern) Wait… so you’re saying Fatimah was raped? By who?

Grace: (hesitating) I… I don’t know, Mom. I’m not happy about it either.

Mother-in-Law: And when you found out what happened, why didn’t you take her to the hospital immediately?

Grace: Because… because… I was scared, Mom.

Mother-in-Law: That’s not an excuse! You

are a mother too. Imagine if this had happened to Blessing—what would you do?

Grace: (gasps) God forbid! It can never happen to my only daughter!

Mother-in-Law: (voice sharp, full of disappointment) Then you are selfish and heartless. A real woman protects every child—even strangers. But you? You failed. Your carelessness has ruined that child’s life and your marriage. Count me out of this issue. Whatever your husband decides—we will all stand with him.

Grace: (pleading) Mother, please! It wasn’t intentional, I swear! (She bursts into heavy sobs.)

Mother-in-Law: (coldly) Which hospital did Sulaiman take her to?

Grace: I… I don’t know.

Mother-in-Law: (cuts the call instantly.)

Grace: (staring at her phone, panicked) Hello? Hello?!… Ehh! I’m dead today. Let me call my own mother.

At the Hospital

(Sulaiman sits beside Fatimah, holding her weak hand. She lies unconscious, her face pale. His voice trembles as he whispers to her.)

Sulaiman: (softly, broken) Allah alone knows the hell you’ve been through in my absence. Alhamdulillah I came on time—only Allah knows what more would have happened. Please, my dear… wake up. I promise I will never leave your side again. Never.

(As he speaks to himself, a nurse suddenly calls his name from behind.)

Sulaiman: Yes, everything, ma.

Doctor: Alright, you can take your leave now.

Sulaiman: Thank you, doctor.

(He walks out of the office and heads back to Fatimah’s room. Standing by her side, he gazes at her pale face, his voice trembling with desperation.)

Sulaiman: Please, dear… wake up. I’ll be right back. I need to deal with that witch I call a wife.

(He storms out of the hospital, his footsteps echoing in the hallway. Moments later, he jumps into his car and speeds off, rage burning in his chest. His mother’s calls keep flashing on his phone, but he ignores them, his grip tightening on the steering wheel.)

(Narration: His heart was a storm, and patience had long abandoned him. The road blurred beneath his wheels as anger blinded his judgment.)

Suddenly a blinding flash of headlights! A heavy trailer roared from the opposite lane. Sulaiman, too furious to slow down, had no time to react. The violent collision sent his car crashing off the road, tumbling helplessly into the dark forest
